01/08/2026 - Meeting Minutes
The meeting opened at 12:00 as President Richard Varela welcomed Chamber Members. Thanks to Sinclair for lunch.
Business Reviews:
McDonalds (Bill Petersen, Toni Wood) - A few new things coming up - a hot honey sandwich and chicken breakfast sandwiches, along with some new drink options.
Family Place (Alyssa Warner) - They are getting ready for their Princess Party in February. They are looking for sponsors or people who want to add swag to their swag bags.
Alpine Cleaning and Restoration (Wayne Moore, Bodey Hunsaker) - They have started to see roof leaks; let them know if you need an evaluation.
Healthy Bites Brigade (Anna Lisa Davidson) - They operate healthy vending machines and snack boxes for schools and businesses. They also hire neuro divergent individuals to help with
America 250 Smithfield Committee (Lisa Schmuhl) - This is a national program throughout the country to celebrate the 250th anniversary in 2026. They are planning a lot of events to celebrate next year so look for those opportunities to participate. Posters are available for your business with a calendar of events throughout the year and an electronic copy is attached to the email.
Second Act Literacy Foundation (Steve Cook) - Help immigrants and refugees learn English and get GEDs. They start classes on January 12th.
Sandstone Psychology (Dan Fast) - Mental health clinic in the valley. They serve children, families, couples and any individuals. They also work with first responders and assessments of anyone who needs help. They offer free assessments to get people help sooner.
Smithfield Chiropractic (Jeremy Gibbons)- Expecting to have more snow related injuries coming up. If you have questions about your health insurance deductibles, let him know.
Summit Elementary (Aimee McNeil) - We are back from a wonderful two week break! Long stretch begins - January through Spring Break. As always, looking forward to the golf tournament.
Backbone Planning (Jace Cox) - They are using the Team Room at the Rec Center on January 15th at 7:00 pm for an open education meeting about group 401 K options for businesses.
Smithfield City (John Engler) - Wanting to be aware of how to market your business and signage in Smithfield. If you have any ideas to help your business visibility in the city, let them know.
Preston Watts (Josh Watts) - Always get a police report with any accidents, even if you think you might not need one. They work with every major insurance company so let them do the leg work for you.
Whole Body Health Care (Zach Manwaring)- Big change this year is that they no longer take United Health Care as an insurance but they can help with self pay options. Expect to see people with back pain and they can offer non-surgical options.
Farmers Insurance (Lily Knudsen, Diana Parker) - If you have questions about insurance, give them a call.
Smithfield Recreation (Richard Varela) - Rec Center is packed right now, but they expect to lighten up soon. The Indoor Triathlon is January 31st - started a few years ago as an introduction to triathlons. This is a great event for families to participate in together.
Host Huski (Andrew Davis) - Website hosting and design. They work with a lot of local businesses. They can register domain names and save you some money and can help you find the right domain name.

Ask All Tech (Jennifer Anderson) - AllTech is a local computer support and services company to help innovate and simplify business IT. 3. Please turn in any Night of Giving receipts to Nicole. The YSA ward wrapped and delivered gifts to 13 families.
Membership Dues
$100 for a store front and $25 for a home business. Please send Nicole an email or a text when you have paid and she will deliver your Chamber Membership window cling. 5. The Easter Egg Hunt is Saturday, April 4th. We will need an egg count (how many eggs you would like us to stuff for you) by the end of February.
