AGENDA NOTES

The meeting opened at 12:15 as Aimee McNeil welcomed Chamber Members. Thanks to Alpine Cleaning and Restoration for hosting the meeting and Nicole Zollinger for cooking and providing the food for lunch.

Business Reviews:

McDonalds (Toni Woods) - Doing well - getting ready for summer!
Alpine Cleaning and Restoration (Wayne Moore) - They clean up water, wind, fire and mold. Please check your outside faucets to make sure they aren’t leaking into your home. Also be careful with swamp coolers. They do free evaluations so give them a call.

Preston Watts Collision and Glass (Josh Watts) - Any projects that you need (paint, windshield, etc) - now is a good time.

Stapley Accounting and Advisory Services (Mark Schoenfeld) - Still busy with taxes so come see them.

Smithfield Lions Club (Deon Hunsaker)- Blood Drive is May 13th. Day of Service was last weekend; they sorted and tested glasses to donate. Blue Sox starts next week - the concessions stand will be open for Lion Pups and Double-Cheese Burgers with Schreiber's cheese. Always looking for new members so if you are interested please let them know.

Birch Creek Elementary (Trudy Wilson) - Leadership and Me celebration is tomorrow with an assembly at 1:00 pm.

Stonefire Pizzeria (Josh Nuckles) - Will be helping with donations for Pancake Breakfast. Excited for the warm weather.

Summit Elementary (Aimee McNeil) - End of year testing and gearing up for the end of the year. Planning to get dunked in a dunking machine on May 29th so come and see!

Smithfield Recreation (Brett Daniels) - Health Days is next week. Thank you to the businesses for all their support of Parks and Recreation in Smithfield. They are putting together race packets for the Health Days race so let them know if you want to participate. The race is this Saturday to kick off the next week of activities.

Zions Bank (Teresa Gwilliam) - Have a good rate on 7 month CD at 5%. Also a good deal on Small Business loans. Zions has raised $645,000 for non-profits.

Whole Body Health Care (Zach Manwaring)- Will be at the Health Days race to help runners with recovery. Looking to hire someone to help with PT and kinesiology. They offer free consultations.

Schreiber Foods (Scott Nelson) - Always hiring - this is a great job for high school graduates. They have great benefits and discounts on products. Eat more cheese!

Farmers Insurance (Payden Knudsen) - They have a lot of options for home insurance through partner organizations. Give them a call.

Host Huski (Andrew Davis) - Website design and hosting provider. They will be releasing an AI product by the end of the summer; it will help you build websites and write copy.

Kim Tippetts - Looking forward to helping with the Pancake Breakfast. Please come and help with this fun event.

President Elect Darryl Simmons - Offering support to the Chamber and businesses.

Healthy Bites Brigade (Annalisa Davidson) - New service of healthy snack subscription service. Looking to practice sales pitches so if you are interested give her a call.

Smithfield City (Mayor Kris Monson)- Thank you for all your support for the city!

Calendar

  1. Scholarship Applications are closed. Recipients will be notified by May 17th.
  2. Golf Tournament - Wednesday, May 8th. Thank you to Lee’s and Ace for sponsoring. Set up is 7:15 am. Hole sponsors need to be set up by 8:40 am. Check in and Breakfast for golfers is at 8:00 am.
  3. Pancake Breakfast - Big thanks to Shamrock for Donating all the Food! Please sign up to help. We need 8-10 helpers per shift:
    • 7-8:30 - Set up and Serve
    • 8:30 - 10:00 - Serve and Clean up

Calendar Items for 2024:

  • May 8th - Tri School Golf Tournament
  • May 11th - Health Days Pancake Breakfast
  • December 7th - Night of Giving
