Business Reviews

McDonald’s - Thanks to the Chamber for all your support. Surviving with drive thru - have been able to keep most employees. Not close to opening up dine-in but looking to possibly opening for takeout in addition to drive thru. Using PPE to make sure that employees and customers are all safe. Shout out to Schreibers for partnering with McDonalds to distribute boxes of Gogurts that can’t be used right now. New menu items have been pushed back but will be on the menu in the future. Do have new Slushies - Pink Lemonade, Blue Raspberry and Fruit Punch. Somewhat worried about the supply chain but hoping to get past that uncertainty in the next few weeks.

Farmer’s Insurance - Still open - asking walk in customers to wear masks. Lots of interest lately in earthquake and life insurance. Do have life insurance policies that you can qualify for in one day with no medical exam necessary.

Larry’s Pharmacy - Still open - business has been good. Employees are wearing masks and sanitizing. Drive thru and curbside pickup is available. Are getting no contact (infrared) thermometers (only 10 of these so call Stephanie if you are interested - they are $72.99) and regular thermometers ($9.99) as well.

The Family Place - Still offering education and other services through telehealth. Kids Place is still open with modified hours and their Children’s Shelter has been used during the COVID crisis. See the attached information for a drive thru event that they have planned for Saturday, May 9th - come get Cinco de Mayo in a bag as supplies last. Live music with DJ Marquez. Decorate your car to be included in a raffle to win a $50 gift card to Lee’s Marketplace. Also check their website for information about Utah Family Month (Mother’s Day through Father’s Day) and Be Kind Utah (goal to record 1 million acts of kindness in the 40 days) initiatives. You can order Be Kind Utah tshirts as well. Would love to partner with businesses in any events and initiatives.

Sunrise Elementary - Figuring out the new normal. Engaging with students with distance education and planning for bridging any learning gaps for next year. Thanks for all your support!

Senator Lyle Hillyard - Dealing with budget uncertainty - meetings are ongoing. Looking for balance in COVID response. Also, looking for any residents or business leaders who are willing to give a 30 second video endorsement to use on Facebook and help in putting out lawn signs in Smithfield.

Cache Valley Bank - Busy with Paycheck Protection Program loans. Have processed 4000 loans worth about $1 Billion. Loans are still available - can use about 25% for rent, utilities, overhead and 75% for payroll. Loans are forgivable as well. Call him with any questions. Lobby closed (appointment only) but are looking for a possible soft opening next week. Drive thru is normal hours.

Summit Elementary - Going well. Had a Teacher Parade last Friday where students were able to wave at teachers. Getting ready to clean out and prep for next year

Alpine Cleaning and Restoration - Can do COVID cleaning with Birex (CDC approved to kill COVID 19). Also still doing carpet cleaning. All employees wear PPE for your protection. Also be careful of flooding and fire.

Smithfield Lion’s Club - Hosting a Red Cross Blood Drive at the Lion’s Lodge on May 22nd from 1 pm - 7 pm.

Birch Creek Golf Course - The golf course is busy! Best to plan ahead and reserve your tee time online at www.birchcreekgolf.com or call the Pro Shop at 435-563-6825 as NOT all online tee times show availability. The Beehive Grill Cafe at Birch Creek opens on Wednesday - come and enjoy lunch or an early dinner. Golf is a GREAT sport to learn and enjoy during COVID-19. Hope to see you all at Birch Creek!

Firehouse Pizzeria - Exciting things are happening at Firehouse while we are offering curbside pickup, takeout and delivery! We have added new granite tables in our main dining area (everywhere except the party room). We have installed new booths and tile under the booths, bricked our archways and put a fresh coat of paint on almost everything! We are now open for inside dining with social distancing as well as curbside pickup, takeout and delivery. See attached pictures for a sneak preview.
