Business Reviews

Schreiber’s Foods (Scott Nelson) - We are still making cheese - providing preservative-free cheese to McDonald’s.

Ace Hardware and Lee’s Marketplace (Casey Crosby) - Slowing down after a busy holiday season. Ace has a BOGO on light bulbs and grocery continues to have weekly deals.

Preston Watts (Josh Watts) - Seeing more door glass cracks and breakage - come see them for repairs. Slow down with winter driving!

Cox DataSystems (Dale Cox) - New year is a good time to clean up your computers. He can help with sales, managing and maintaining computer helps.

McDonald’s (Bill Peterson) - Expecting new menu items as the year progresses, including doughnut sticks and cheese bacon fries. Grateful for good employees.

Smithfield Firehouse (Kim Tippetts) - launching new website and mobile app to help with online ordering. Hoping to streamline the process. Seeing lots of return from their newsletter ads.

Smithfield City (Bart Caley) - A tax credit is available for businesses who meet certain requirements for recycling. Nicole will be recapping 2018 Chamber information at the next city council meeting.

Alpine Cleaning (Wayne Moore) - Coming into flood season. Lots of frozen pipes with the cold weather. Pro tip - check water lines on your refrigerator for leaks to avoid costly repairs.

Stapley Accounting (Terri Stapley) - Tax documents are all due by January 31st. Be sure to keep them all in one place so you have them handy.

Birch Creek Elem (John Anderson) - Thanks to Firehouse for helping with teacher gifts for Christmas. Just hired a new teacher - is amazed by the quality of teaching that we see in our district. Smithfield has more elementary students than any other town in the county.

Membership Dues

You will be receiving an email invoice from Terri for 2019 dues. Please watch for it. Chamber Goals 2019

Wayne asked for input on goals we would like to have for our Chamber for 2019. Suggestions were made to try and grow the chamber and see if we can get more business participation. Nicole will forward business list to chamber members to see if we can make personal contacts with people we know that might like to be involved. We should also think of making personal invitations to people to attend meetings.
