10/02/2025 - Meeting Minutes
AGENDA NOTES
The meeting opened at 12:15 as Darrell Simmons welcomed Chamber Members. Thank you to Nicole Zollinger for providing the food and the Lions Club for hosting.
Business Reviews
Sandstone Psychology (Daniel Fast) - Mental health clinic in Hyde Park and specialize in rural communities. Looking to become more involved in the community - offering counseling, group and individual therapy, veterans and autism testing.
Cache County School District (Kathy Christiansen, Derek Beer) - Back to report on new building and boundary changes for the district. Two new middle schools will open in the 2026-27 school year. They are on time and on budget. This will create a feeder middle school for each high school. Next year all 6th graders will attend middle school, so middle schools will be 6th, 7th and 8th grades. The new elementary school is under construction in Hyde Park. DLI programs will be consolidated into two magnet schools - Spring Creek Elementary will contain French and Spanish programs and Cedar Ridge Elementary will contain Portuguese and Chinese. Boundaries will be changed to accommodate the changes and can be found on the district website. All of this will be voted on at the board meeting tonight.
Cache Valley Bank (Kaitlyn Mason)- They are celebrating their 50th anniversary. They will have cookies for all their customers tomorrow!
Backbone Planning (Jace Cox) - Financial advising firm out of Las Vegas. The 4th quarter is a great time to review financial planning. They work with retirement planning as well.
Alpine Cleaning and Restoration (Boedy Hunsaker) - helping homes and businesses with disaster cleanup in the valley. Happy to make an impact on
The Family Place (Alyssa Warner) - They are looking forward to helping with Trick or Treat Street.
Husky Marketing (Matt Veil)- Working with new technology to help his clients. All the new technology can help with your business - they can help bridge the knowledge gap with business owners and technology. They can save you time and cater your online presence to help your bottom line.
Sky View High School (Brady Fonnesbeck) - Had a great homecoming week with lots of student participation. Parent Teacher Conferences are Monday next week. Fall sports are wrapping up and they are getting geared up for winter sports starting.
Smithfield Lions Club (Deon Hunsaker) - Tonight is a Meet the Candidate Night for candidates for the election in November. Come to the Lions Lodge at 6:30 to learn more about the council and mayoral candidates. They are participating in a coloring contest - Lions International Peace Poster Contest. Details are attached to the email. They are looking for donations for their tree and they are always looking for new members.
Birch Creek Elementary (Kevyn Webb) - Parent Teacher Conferences are today and tomorrow. Fall Break is next week (October 9th and 10th). Red Ribbon Week is coming up later in October. Zions Bank (Tori Wanner) - working on SBA loans this month. Volunteering at Zootah. They do a lot of their own underwriting so hoping not to be affected by the shutdown.
Smithfield City (Mayor Kris Monson) - They are working on regulations for motorized scooters as prevalent as they are becoming in the valley. The new open city council spot will be filled by the council in a meeting in October. There is no election. The seat will be a 2 year term. Smithfield City has signed up to be involved in the Dignity Index, encouraging people to disagree better.
Stapley Advisory and Accounting (Terri Stapley) - They want to give credit to Matt Veil and his work in helping them grow their business. The 4th quarter is a good time to maximize benefits for the year before January.
Whole Body Health Care (Zach Manwaring)- A lot of clients are athletes now and happy to help with injuries and pain that don’t involve surgery and/or medication. They are very busy now. Looking to expand with another doctor to the practice. If you need to use up a deductible, come see him.
Achievement Realty (Kim Tippetts, Jim Tippetts) - New home coming on the market in Hyde Park.
Farmers Insurance (Lily Knudsen, Diana Parker) - Farmers has some good new homeowners and auto rates. They can work with different carriers to get the best rates for you.
Smithfield Recreation (Richard Varela) - Posters available for Trick or Treat Street and Turkey Trot. Trick or Treat Street is October 17th - They have one door available; the event is to help them practice Trick or Treating safely. Turkey Trot plans for 500 racers - they are happy to put information in race bags so let Richard know if you have something to donate.

Trick or Treat Street is Friday October 17th at Forrester Acres. The time is 4:30 - 7:30 pm.

Night of Giving - Saturday, December 6th. Theme - Make the Season Bright. Tickets will be $50 a ticket with tables and sponsorships available. Our Sponsorship Prices are as follows:
- $600 - includes 8 Tickets to Event, 40 raffle a tickets and 8 Golden Ticket vouchers.
- $900 - includes 8 Tickets to Event, 120 Raffle Tickets and 16 Golden Ticket vouchers
- $1200 - includes 8 Tickets to Event, 200 Raffle Tickets and 32 Golden Ticket Vouchers

Angel Trees will be set up at the Rec Center and Stonefire Pizzeria beginning November 1st. We are always looking for auction items, raffle items or any donations!
