AGENDA NOTES
The meeting opened at 12:10 as President-Elect Josh Watts welcomed Chamber Members. Thanks to Smithfield City for allowing us to use the Senior Center for our meeting. Special thanks to Tori Wanner from Zions Bank for the delicious food! And Happy Birthday month to Tori!
Business Reviews
Smithfield Chiropractic (Jeremy Gibbons) - Spring is coming - yard work season leads to more business for him! If you need help, go see him.
Learning Turtle Preschool (Anita Gerber) - They just hired a few teachers for next year.
Farmers Insurance (Diana Parker) - congratulations to Payden and Lily on the birth of their new baby girl.
Family Place (Alyssa Warner) - They had their Steppin Up event to kick off Child Abuse Prevention Month. Their big fundraiser is April 25th so if you want to participate.
Jim and Kim Tippetts - They are partnering with Bridgerland Adventure Park in Garden City to open a restaurant called Blue Horizon Grill (both quick service and sit down service) with the rebranded Bear Lake Adventure Park. They also have properties available if you are interested in residential or commercial properties in the Bear Lake area.
Schreiber Foods (Scott Nelson) - Hiring! They are starting a lot of new production lines in October so they will be hiring about 30 people per month through the fall. Great pay and benefits. Send anyone their way. Also, he is putting a tournament on for Family Place in July so let him know if you are interested in being a hole sponsor. Look for information coming through email.
Lees Marketplace (Pete Krusi) - They will have their Easter Egg hunt event from 11-2 on Saturday (their store and Ace Hardware). Look for their April deals.
Smithfield Lions (Terry and Starla Weirman) - Looking for new service project opportunities.
Cache Valley Bank (Danny Hansen, Katelyn Mason) - Anticipating commercial rates to climb but they still have some good rates available.
Sierra Restoration (Ryan Benson) - They do emergency response and remodelling. They do free estimates for any issues or projects you are starting.
Smithfield City (Chris Olsen, John Engler) - City council members have new assignments and want to support local businesses. They have had some training for Utah Main Street, to help get ideas to revitalize main street areas of cities and towns. They may reach out to businesses regarding community support to help them secure grants to revitalize local businesses. Also, with the new school boundaries, they are working on safe walking routes for students to get to their elementary schools. Please let the city know where sidewalks in neighborhoods might be needed.
Whole Body Health Care (Zach Manwaring) - They offer chiropractic care, homeopathics, ozone therapy and other therapies that can help you avoid medications and surgery.
Sandstone Psychology (Dan Fast) - mental health clinic with clinicians that help with addiction, trauma, families, and many other issues. They offer autism testing to help with diagnosis for school accommodations. They have a free mental health screener that can help with any employees or individuals that might want a mental health checkup. They also contract with businesses to offer services for their employees.
YardMaster (Trish Ybarrando) - They are working on aeration right now. Other spring services will be available soon.
Serv Pro of Logan (Scott Conlin) - Specialize in all damage - water, mold, fire. They do free moisture checks if you think you might have any issues. Let them know if you have any restoration needs.
Backbone Planning (Jace Cox) - He does financial planning for business owners - retirement, business transitions, etc. They are also offering a Chamber 401K plan for chamber members. If you are making decisions for next year's taxes or retirements, let him know.
Stapley Advisory and Accounting (Terri Stapley)- Its tax deadline time. Some tax changes are valid for this year so if you aren’t sure if they apply to you, please contact an accountant.
Heavens Best Carpet Cleaning (Kolin Knowles) - They are a premium option for carpet cleaning - they take their time and do a good job. They are offering half off all services to non profits so give them a call. They also regularly go to the Bear Lake area so if you have needs let them know and they can get you on their Bear Lake cleaning day schedule.
Preston Watts Collision and Glass (Josh Watts) - They work with all major insurance companies, even if they are not an official “pro shop” for that company. They have a lifetime guarantee and you will not have to pay more than your deductible.
Cache Refugee and Immigrant Connection (Lizette Villegas) - They are partnering with CRIC to offer a Cinco de Mayo in Smithfield during Health Days. The goal is to inform the community on health and eating. Please come and participate and help them get the word out. It will be May 5th from 11:30 am - 8 pm.
Zions Bank (Tori Wanner, Desi Garcia) - Promotional offer for business credit cards - spend $5000 in the first 120 days, you get $1000 cash back or 10,000 points. If you are thinking about any home equity needs you have for home projects.
America 250 (Lisa Schmul) - Thank you to the Chamber Members who are helping - Zions Bank is sponsoring Walk 250, Host Huski is putting together their website, Smithfield Rec Center is hosting a link to their website to get the word out about events. Whole Body Health sponsored their pageant in March; it was a great event. AllTech is also a sponsor for them. April 25th is a Day of Service so check their website for details. There are a lot of events in May and into the summer as well so please support their events as you can.
Utah Lions Club (Deon Hunsaker) - They donated 250 pounds of plastic on behalf of the Smithfield Chamber so we are in a drawing for a bench. Smithfield Lions are having a spaghetti dinner; all are invited. Blue Sox games start in May so come support the Lions via concessions. They will have a Blood Drive on May 18th; see the flyer attached to the email minutes. The State Lions Club convention is in May. Hyde Park Lions do a Memorial Day Breakfast and Richmond Lions will participate in Black and White Days.
Smithfield Recreation (Brett Daniels) - Thank you for supporting the Rec Center! Their big upcoming event is Health Days. Please help publicize them by putting up posters. They have parade space and booth space still available as well.
Host Huski/Small Bot (Andrew Davis) - They are launching an AI builder to help you build a website. They are offering a half off deal to Chamber Members. They are also excited to sponsor America 250.
Huski Marketing (Matt Veil) - Good to be out with business members in Smithfield. If you need help with marketing strategy, let them help you streamline your business marketing needs. They do free consultations!
Atlas Financial Benefits (Nick Nielson) - They focus on supplemental insurance plans for businesses and individuals. They do complementary consultations.
Ask AllTech (Jennifer Anderson) - They provide IT services to simplify and innovate your business. They work on cybersecurity with small and medium sized businesses in Cache Valley.

Coming Up
- The Easter Egg Hunt is Saturday, April 4th. Bring any tables/signage/promotional information that you want to display along with the prizes that you signed up to provide. Set up is at 8 am sharp.
- The Tri School Golf Tournament is finalized for Wednesday, May 6th. If you are interested in being a hole sponsor or want to have a team to golf with us, let us know sooner rather than later.
- The Chamber Scholarship application opened on April 1st. Applications will be accepted through April 30th.
- The Pancake Breakfast will be held on Saturday, May 9th. We will be sending out requests for help. We will need 10-12 people to help with set up, cooking and cleaning up.
