Business Reviews

Lee’s Marketplace - No food show this year but will be having daily deals starting next week, including on weekends. Look for deals on turkey, ham, Maddox turkey steaks, cheese. Buy early to avoid shortages that might apply from supply chain issues.

Stapley Accounting - Its year end. Call her if you need help with getting your books in order. Always taking new clients for taxes and payroll as well.

Sunrise Elementary - Already collecting names for Night of Giving. Seeing a great need this year. Thanks for all the support for children in our community.

Gibbons Accounting - Keep track of any payroll that you spend on quarantine - you can be reimbursed for that time.

Firehouse Pizzeria - Very busy! Always looking to hire.

Family Place - Starting an initiative - Play with the Family Place - with lots of virtual activities. New podcast on parenting is available - The Parents Podcast. Giving machines are available in Smithfield and Logan Lee’s Marketplace; you can also donate online.

McDonald’s - Always hiring. New pastries - Apple Fritter, Blueberry Muffin and Cinnamon Roll. Lobbies are still not open - that decision is made at corporate. Drive-thru, delivery and mobile ordering all available.

Alpine Cleaning and Restoration - Make sure you disconnect your hoses from your house to avoid freeze breaks. Weather is turning so be careful.

Summit Elementary - People are settling into the changes that were made and doing well. Parent Teacher Conferences are today and tomorrow.

Birch Creek Elementary - Echoing what other schools have said. Seeing a lot of struggling families. State has extended free lunch for the rest of the year to help.

Farmer’s Insurance - Celebrating their 15th year in business! Also Farmer’s is offering an exam free life insurance policy for certain age groups and coverage plans.

Sky View High School - Fall sports have gone great - good success with soccer, volleyball, band and football. Had 14 Academic All State. Working on live stream options for winter sports.

Smithfield Recreation - Top of Utah Tournament is continuing this weekend. Turkey Trot is coming up on November 20th. COVID restrictions are in place but looking forward to 300-400 runners. Still looking for coupons or other donations for runners bags.

Smithfield City - Lots of growth - City Councili approved 2 annexations and residential rezones.

Smithfield Lions Club - Always looking for new members. Have their Lions, Tigers and Bears tree and raffle item ready for Night of Giving. Also still supporting the American Red Cross with a blood drive in December and supporting Little Lambs.

Schreiber - Always hiring. Expanding. Eat more cheese.

Night of Giving Details

  • If you have someone would might benefit from a personal invitation, let Nicole know and she will send a postcard.
  • We need auction items by noon on Saturday for photos and inclusion in program.
  • Ticket sales - at Lee’s or through Nicole. $30 and includes a $25 gift card to Smithfield Firehouse Pizzeria and a raffle ticket.
  • Evening is a walk through from 4-8 pm. Will have Golden Ticket, Raffle items, virtual auction, Hot Cocoa bar from Lee’s Marketplace, fun games and giveaways. It will be fun night if you are able to come and we will have the auction online for those who are not comfortable attending in person.
  • Sponsorship are available that include tickets, raffle tickets and golden ticket vouchers.
  • Smithfield Youth Council will be helping with setup and takedown.
