Business Reviews

Alpine Cleaning and Restoration (Wayne Moore) - Starting to see groundwater flooding. They offer free evaluations. Can rent out equipment for cleanup or manage the job start to finish. Work with insurance companies.

Lee’s Marketplace (Pete Krusi) - Come down the Bunny Trail on Saturday, April 20th from 11-2. Lots of fun treats and prizes. Now offering Daily Deals, including upcoming deals on strawberries and Lindt chocolate. Getting closer to Richmond store expansion and also in downtown Salt Lake City, by West High.

Schreiber’s (Scott Nelson) - Schreiber’s is working on a golf tournament to benefit Family Place. Have lots of fun ideas and planning to tout it as a Charity Golf Tournament for Golfers. Scheduled for July 19th. Also, eat more cheese.

Stapley Accounting (Terri Stapley) - Tax deadline is next week. File now or file for an extension.

Farmer’s Insurance (Elese Elwood) - Offering Signal program - helps track driving habits. Good for teenage drivers. They offer discounts if you use this program. Also offering earthquake insurance and summer tips for safety.

Cox Data Systems (Dale Cox) - Sells and repairs computer systems. Offering computer cleanup for $50.

Sunrise Elementary (Derek Beers) - Working on getting golf tournament organized from the school standpoint. Still growing. Getting ready for end of year testing.

Sky View High School (Mike Monson) - Finalizing details for graduation. They are graduating 300 seniors. Expecting a little growth next year - up to 1450 students. Had Freshmen Orientation. Happy about Chamber Scholarship. Also Rigo Chapparro is helping provide scholarships to Hispanic students.

Family Place (Wendi Coombs) - “Up to the Highest Heights” is their upcoming fundraiser - auction and dinner at Riverwoods on April 26th. Family Month is Mother’s Day - Father’s Day. Sponsoring new initiative called Be Kind Utah with the intent to strengthen connections and encourage resiliency. Kickoff is May 1stl. Hoping to get 1,000,000 acts of kindness documented.

Larry’s Smithfield Pharmacy (Stephanie Evans) - Offer blister packaging for medications - helps to keep people straight on their medications. Tickets on sale for the Lion’s Club dinner tonight.

Smithfield Lion’s Club (Deon Hunsaker) - Dinner for $6. Main fundraiser for the year. Also provide scholarships and sell concessions at Blue Sox games. Naming a new Citizen of the Year in conjunction with Health Days.

Smithfield City (Deon Hunsaker) - City Council just approved the new budget - look for information to be released soon.

Smithfield Recreation (Richard Varela) - Baseball registration extended to Sunday. Soccer starts this week as well as track, which has big numbers for it’s first year; almost 150 kids registered. Health Days will have booths all day this year - 11-8. Selling a wristband for inflatables.

Ace Hardware (Casey Crosby) - Spring sales going on - fertilizer, etc.

Summit Elementary (Troy Pugmire) - Headed to Greenville Elementary in North Logan next year. Thanks to the Chamber for everything!

Spring Events - Easter Egg Hunt and Golf Tournament

Passing around a list so double check that we have the correct amount of eggs for your donation. Set up is 8:00 am. Easter Egg Hunt is at 9:00.

Golf tournament almost full - 31 teams; all hole sponsorships full; great raffle prizes. Thanks so much to the three elementary schools!
